Short answer: No. The Atkins diet is a complete diet-plus lifestyle, and that lifestyle includes a diet of high or relatively high total fat, low carbohydrate, high proteins, low carbohydrate diets. The most important meal of the day would be low fat or high protein.

Long answer: There is no scientific evidence that the Atkins diet can aid in weight loss. Although it does reduce some calories in the diet, low fat diets tend to fail to keep fat the same fat.
