Lying is a form of deceptive behavior. A lie is a belief or assertion that is false in light of some objective fact that can be independently verified. Lies have been known to be the source of untold amounts of conflict, conflict that is not a result of people doing anything “reckless.” These conflicts can sometimes last for years, and they are even known to end in the eventual death of everyone involved in the lies, including the person lying.
