How many strands of saffron should I use? – Saffron Planting Equipment

If you plan to use more than 2 liters of saffron a year, you may need to add another 50 grams or so (or 2 tablespoons) of saffron seed. A 100 ml bottle of saffron will provide about 100 grams (3-4 tablespoons and a half) of seed.

Coconut Curry Soup:

3 tablespoons Coconut Oil, 3 tablespoons Coconut Nut Oil, 3 tablespoons Garlic, 3 tablespoons Turmeric.

1 cup of water.

3 cloves of lemongrass, minced.


3 tbsp ground cumin, powdered.

½ cup of fresh cilantro

1-2 tablespoons of Fresh Cilantro, chopped.

4 tsp turmeric powder.

Cooking Directions: Add the coconut oil to blender, heat for a few seconds, add the spices and blend until smooth. Take off the heat and add in 1 to 2 cups of water and keep blending until the sauce thickens, about 3 minutes. Cool the sauce to lukewarm. Strain this sauce through a fine sieve into a blender, add the drained fish, coconut butter, lime, lemon juice, and the extra water. Blend until smooth and creamy, then add the fish. You can garnish this soup with some cilantro, cilantro leaves, or other chopped herbs to taste.

Shaved Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients for 8 medium-sized potatoes (not peeled)

3 cups of water

2 teaspoons of salt. (You need to add in 3 teaspoons of salt so this recipe is not too salty!)

2 tablespoons of ground cumin. (The cumin seeds are usually stored in the fridge so you can add them in at the time you need them. If you plan on using this recipe frequently then it is worth purchasing a few bags just in case)

1 head medium-sized cilantro. (You can easily buy fresh cilantro from the market or you can find them in the spices section of a supermarket. If you want to add in extra cilantro you can use some fresh scallions. In that case just chop the cilantro. You can also grate all the garlic into a fine paste and then add to the pot.)
